Pelota App

The task for this project were to take on creative ownership of the UI designs for the mobile app and ensuring overall UX flow.
This included brand idenity, logo & icons, color scheme, complete app re-design, and app navigation flow changes. My biggest takeaway from this project was working on establishing a clearly documented color scheme and utilizing Figma's design style system made the design changes and design iterations a much more efficient process. Not only from gathering feedback from the clients but also for handover for the developer. It cut down on the time of explaining why something was in this color, and I was able to quickly do color changes utilizing an established color scheme that was discussed. Creating a minimalistic and simplistic look for a mobile app, yet having the desire to have the app stand out is always a tough balance as a designer. However, I feel that I was able to accomplish this by creating some custom achievement icons that is unqiue to the Pelota app and matching it to the art style the founders were aiming for. This created a creative outlet that helped the brand stand out, while the rest of the app still upholds the professional minimalism look.
